The boss-fights are okay, but the fact that you can only damage them with explosives makes them tedious. I got lost more than once, but I just listened to the load-screen tip: "when you get stuck, you can always look up a walkthrough on the internet." That perfectly sums up the game, while it's meant as a joke, it also shows they knew people would get stuck. Later on, however, you get a bad driving-mission, an extremely bad swimming mission, various missions where it's too dark to see without duke-vision (their name for nightvision) but also too bright with duke-vision. When I started playing I didn't get the hate, it starts mediocre and the humor wasn't funny to me, but that's subjective. I will say though, that compared to a lot of modern games I've played recently, (Control and NieR Replicant) it actually managed to hold my attention and not bore me to death as those games did so at the end of the day it did accomplish at being an entertaining video game which is becoming rarer in the modern age of gaming.ĥh 58m PlayedIt's a generic early 2000s corridor/wave-based shooter that relies almost entirely on nostalgia to get its very limited appeal. That, and the game did crash on me twice in my playthrough. It has some great ideas but is just not good enough in its execution and polish to make it any better. The shooting feels ancient and isn't anywhere near as fast and flowing as it should be, you only have access to 2 weapons at any time and the levels are very linear with little to no exploration unless that's what the specific chapter is focused on. It's just sad that the game is so unpolished and generic that it lets the only really creative part of the game down. That to me was the most interesting and fun part of the game, that and the variety the game offered in its gameplay. 12h 29m PlayedI will always remember this game for its interactivity in the environment. ![]()
